Does the ADA apply to my business website?
It can. Many courts have applied the ADA to business websites, especially where the site is connected to a physical location, and lawsuits and demand letters over website accessibility are common. The law is still developing and depends on your situation, so for legal advice talk to your attorney. We handle the technical side: finding and fixing what blocks disabled users.
What standard should my website meet?
The ADA does not spell out a technical standard for private business websites. The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, WCAG 2.1 or 2.2 at Level AA, are the benchmark most often used, and the Department of Justice adopted WCAG 2.1 AA for state and local government websites in 2024. We audit and fix against WCAG Level AA.
Can you guarantee my website is ADA compliant?
No, and be careful with anyone who does. No provider can promise a site will never draw a legal claim, and automated scores do not prove conformance. What we can do is find the barriers, fix them in the code, re-test, and give you a documented record of the work and the improvement.
Will an accessibility overlay or plugin make my site compliant?
Not on its own. An overlay adds a toolbar on top of the page but does not fix the underlying code, so many barriers remain, and it can interfere with the screen readers and tools disabled visitors already use. We fix the site itself.
How long does an accessibility audit and fix take?
It depends on the size of the site and how it is built. A small site with a handful of templates moves much faster than one with hundreds of unique pages, because a fix to a shared template reaches every page that uses it. We give you a timeline with the audit.
What does website accessibility work cost?
We scope it after a free look at your site, because the cost depends on the number of templates, forms and pages involved. If a rebuild is the better path, accessibility is built into our website modernization work from the start.
